Memory Reflection

Memory Related Disorder:  The memory related disorder that stood out to me in this weeks assignment was the one that you always here about, and the one that affects most people, Alzheimers. I have heard so many stories from people I am close to being affected by this disease because someone they know or love has the terrible disease. The phenomenon behind this disease is that the brain simply attacks itself. The cells, nerves, and transmitters are attacked and the brain eventually shrinks and major gaps are formed. I personally learned from this, that there is really no cure yet. It's such a horrible thing, but one can not do anything about it. Improving Memory Strategy:  The strategy that stood out to me was the bundling strategy. The way this strategy works is lets say that you have a large amount of number that you need to memorize. Instead of trying to memorize all of them at once group them up and memorize the groups at different times an...

M4 task

For this task I was able to sit them down in a quiet environment where they could be focused and prepared for the test. Prior to the test I had each individual grab a note card and pencil and be ready for the test. First I told them to listen to the list of words I was about to read, and then once I was done, to write down as many as they could remember. This was the list I read:  thread, pin, eye, injection ,syringe, sewing, sharp, point, hurt, knitting, prick, thimble, haystack, pain These are their lists: Friend 1: thread,  eye, injection, syringe, sewing, point, thimble, pain Friend 2: thread eye injection sewing sharp prick, thimble, pain  Once they had written down as many of the words as they could remember, I told them to listen to a second list and again, remember as many words as possible. This is the second list I read:   Bed, Drowse,  Awake, Nurse,  Tired, Sick,  Dream, Lawyer,  Wake, Medicine,  Snooze, Health,  Sno...

Learning

In this blog I am going to write about learning. Something that stood out to me was acquisition. Acquisition is the point of learning process at which neutral stimulus becomes a conditional stimulus. An example of this is a dog and bell. When the dog is being potty trained the owner teaches it that when it needs to go to the bathroom the dog must ring the bell and it will be taken outside to go to the bathroom. Research I did I decided to research more about learning. Learning isn't something that happens when you are just sitting behind a desk and taking notes at school. It is happening all the time and the amount that you learn varies depending on your environment and what you are doing at the time. Real World Application  Through this I learned that I am always learning something. I don't have to just be in school to be learning. There are different environments in which I can learn in. I strongly believe that this weeks assignment will help me in the future.
