Strengths

In this week’s lesson I did the strength activity where I took a 240 question quiz that came up with some of my top strengths. I used these strengths in different ways than how I usually approach my life using these strengths. I learned that there is much more room to improve on your everyday life by basically doing your best strengths in different ways.

My plan
My top 3 strengths expressed myself in a way that I do see myself when I reflect on my life and think about how others look at my character and the way I hold myself up. My first strength was spirituality, sense of purpose, and faith. I do see myself with strong and coherent beliefs. I see myself as someone who was put on this earth for a purpose to benefit the world rather than to take away from it. My beliefs shape my life and steers my life in a way I believe is right. The way I am going to use this strength in a different way in this week to continue to follow my faith by making almost every decision through my beliefs. Every decision through this week whether it is breakfast or to go to church on Sunday. I hope to life my life even better than when I would use my beliefs to make decisions on some occasions. My second strength is kindness and generosity. This connects to my first strength in a way because my faith and beliefs are to be kind to one another. I always put others before myself and I have learned that from my father. We are similar and shadow one another when we put others first. We enjoy to create smiles from others. I enjoy being generous to others even if it goes unnoticed or unappreciated only because I don’t just do it for others, it makes me happy to do it. This week I am going to use this strength in a way to help others. I am going to volunteer at the salvation army to help feed the homeless. We will bring in food that has either been donated or bought and serve these people for free. I have done it in the past and enjoyed it. My third strength is gratitude. I am very thankful for all that I receive and I show my appreciation because I know how it feels to be thanked for doing something for others. This also connects to my kindness strength when I am kind to others and I am thanked and showed appreciation it makes me feel good. This week I will show my gratitude in some way but I am not sure.

One week later and finding new ways to show my strengths I enjoyed trying these new ways. My first strength I used by faith and beliefs in all decisions of my life including what I was eating and who I was helping each day. I became a better person in all aspects of my life. I became healthier and ate very healthy based on just making the better decisions. I received different comments on my different lifestyle for the week and it made me realize that I did make decisions based on my faith before but there is much more room to make better decisions than I already was. My second strength I was my kindness, I volunteers down at the salvation army where there was a group of churches who allowed me to join them on serving food the homeless. I felt as if I should do more as a person to help others more than just my friends and family. I help in ways that don’t take much effort, I usually give them money as I drive by but doing something where I actually take time to feed these homeless made me very happy. I will continue to help with churches and others to continue doing good deeds such as this one. My third strength I did not know how I was going to express my gratitude so I decided to wait until I knew what would be the best way to change my gratitude. I was given money by my parents for reasons that I needed spending money. I decided to show my gratitude to my parents. Instead of keeping the money for myself I left the money they gave me in the vehicle. I went and bought my mother flowers and her favorite candy thanking her for all that she has ever done for me. My father I went and bought him some new shoes that he had been wanting. I usually do not by my mom and dad gifts, mainly because they always tell me not to. Doing this made me open my eyes on how lucky I am to have such wonderful parents. I will continue to show them thanks in any way that I can.

I think its really cool that you even got feedback from others based on the small changes you made in your life within the last week. I love how you completely did things that would make others and yourself happy!
